Wildlife Management and Licensing: Enforcement & inspection

The police are responsible for enforcing wildlife laws related to protected species. The majority of police forces have a Wildlife Crime Officer who can be contacted via your local police station.

Natural England monitors activities carried out under our licences and permits to ensure compliance of licence conditions. We will also investigate and, if necessary, enforce occupiers' obligations to control certain damage caused to wildlife and the spread of injurious weeds.
