Volunteering Is ... Conference
Natural England’s “Volunteering is…” Conference took place on 17 and 18 March in York and was a resounding success. It brought together a range of organisations from across the environment, voluntary and private sectors, to discuss how we can work together more effectively to improve and increase opportunities for environmental volunteers.
Workshop groups at the conference discussed the big issues around increasing diversity and opportunities, maintaining a satisfied volunteer workforce and working in partnership. Groups focussed on actions and next steps and discussed what role Natural England could play.
Natural England’s role should be to:
- bring the sector together
- facilitate sharing of knowledge, best practice and ideas on marketing and promotion.
- improve and expand commitment from Government so great ideas become a reality.
